Description

BN374MK 6.5" x 10.4" Magnetic Embroidery Hoop for Bernina

Spend less time hooping and more time embroidering.

The BN374MK magnetic embroidery hoop combines a solid metal base frame with 12 removable bar magnets—4 long magnets and 8 short magnets. The different magnet lengths provide broad fabric support along the frame while allowing more precise placement around corners and smaller sections.

There are no tightening screws and no rigid upper hoop to press into place. Simply position the stabilizer and fabric over the frame, add the magnets and adjust individual sections as needed.

Embroidery area: 6.5" x 10.4"
Metric size: 16.5 x 26.5 cm / 165 x 265 mm
Magnet configuration: 4 long bar magnets + 8 short bar magnets
Compatible brand: Select Bernina embroidery machines

Why Choose the BN374MK?

Broad and Even Fabric Support

The four long magnets cover wider sections of the frame, helping provide continuous support along the longer fabric edges.

The eight shorter magnets can be placed around corners and smaller sections where more targeted holding is needed.

Faster Screw-Free Hooping

Place the stabilizer and fabric over the metal frame, then secure them with the included magnets. There are no screws to tighten or outer hoops to force into position.

Easy Individual Adjustment

Each magnet can be removed separately. When one area needs adjustment, simply lift the nearest magnet, smooth the fabric and place the magnet back without restarting the entire hooping process.

Suitable for Large Projects

The 6.5" x 10.4" embroidery area is suitable for projects such as:

  • Towels
  • Sweatshirts
  • Denim garments
  • Quilt blocks
  • Home décor
  • Bags and fabric panels
  • Large monograms and embroidery designs

Helps Reduce Hoop Marks

Because the fabric is held magnetically rather than compressed between two rigid hoops, the frame can help reduce visible hoop impressions on textured and delicate materials.

FAQ

1. What is the advantage of using both long and short bar magnets?

The BN374MK includes four long bar magnets and eight shorter bar magnets.

The long magnets provide wider support along larger fabric sections, while the shorter magnets are easier to position near corners, curves and smaller areas. This combination provides broad coverage while still allowing local fabric adjustments.

2. How is this magnetic hoop different from a traditional embroidery hoop?

A traditional hoop holds fabric by pressing it between an inner and outer frame, usually with a tightening screw.

The BN374MK uses removable magnets to hold the fabric and stabilizer against a metal base frame. There are no screws to tighten, and individual areas can be adjusted without completely removing and re-hooping the project.

The magnetic system may also help reduce visible hoop impressions on towels, knits and other textured materials.

3. How does it compare with a magnetic hoop that has a one-piece upper frame?

A one-piece magnetic upper frame can provide quick and even support for regular, flat materials.

The BN374MK uses 12 separate bar magnets, allowing you to remove or reposition only the magnet closest to the area that needs adjustment. The magnets can also be arranged around raised seams, pockets and other uneven sections instead of forcing a complete upper frame over them.

4. Can I use this hoop with fabric that has seams, zippers or uneven areas?

Yes. The separate long and short magnets can be positioned around thicker sections and raised areas.

Place the shorter magnets near seams, corners or irregular sections, and use the longer magnets along flatter fabric edges. Make sure all magnets remain outside the embroidery design and needle path.

5. How can I position embroidery accurately near the corner of a napkin or handkerchief?

Use the included grid template to identify the center point and direction of the embroidery area.

Align the template lines with the fabric edges or corner, mark the required reference point, and then position the fabric on the metal frame. Add the magnets only after confirming the placement.

Before stitching, use the machine’s layout, check or tracing function to verify the final position.

6. Can I embroider a design that is larger than the 6.5" x 10.4" embroidery area?

A larger design may be stitched in multiple sections, but the embroidery file must first be properly divided and prepared as a multi-position design.

The separate magnets make it easier to release, move and secure the fabric again without removing a rigid upper hoop. However, accurate registration marks and careful positioning are still required.

The hoop does not automatically enlarge the embroidery area supported by the machine.

7. Do I still need a smaller magnetic hoop?

A hoop size close to the embroidery design usually provides the best fabric support.

The BN374MK is suitable for medium and larger designs. For a small design, a smaller hoop may hold the fabric closer to the stitching area and help reduce movement in the center.

Keeping more than one hoop size also allows you to select the frame that best matches each project.

8. How should I clean lint and thread from the magnets and frame?

Remove loose lint with a soft brush, lint roller or a short burst of compressed air.

Wipe the metal frame and magnet covers with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, then dry them completely. Do not soak the frame, and avoid sharp or metallic cleaning tools that could scratch the surface or damage the coating.

Check the contact surfaces regularly, as trapped lint can reduce grip.

9. Will the attachment bracket fit my Bernina embroidery machine?

The BN374MK is designed for the Bernina models listed in the product compatibility section.

Before ordering, confirm the complete model number and make sure the appropriate embroidery module is installed where required. Depending on the machine, you may need to select a corresponding hoop or custom embroidery area manually.

After installation, always run the machine’s tracing or embroidery-area check before stitching.

10. How should I store the hoop and bar magnets?

Store the frame flat in a clean, dry place away from excessive heat and moisture.

Keep the magnets attached to the frame or separated with suitable protective spacing so they do not snap together unexpectedly. Avoid dropping or striking the magnets, as strong impacts may damage their covers or magnetic material.

Under normal indoor storage conditions, the magnets should maintain their holding performance for a long time.

11. Is an instruction guide available?

Yes. A magnetic embroidery hoop usage guide can be provided or linked on the product page.

The guide should explain fabric positioning, magnet placement, machine installation, tracing and basic safety precautions. Customers should also refer to their Bernina machine manual for embroidery-module operation and supported embroidery areas.
